The supports

The guard mounts (front sides) are very important in the set-up of the kart. In our karts they are currently put in using rubber inserts between frame and mount.
These mounts can alter the characteristics of the frame, such as rigidity and torsion, according to how they are screwed in. Our new karts do not come with screw holes, but all mounts are fixed into place using special springs; the same goes for the rear bumper, fixed more or less rigidly into its slots in the main tubes of the frame.
A stronger or looser tightening of these connections will vary the rigidity of the frame in the area involved but will also influence the features and the response on the other side of the chassis.
